Bosch 800 Series Problems – Repair & Troubleshooting Atlanta

Bosch 800 Series refrigerator with cooling and repair troubleshooting focus
Your refrigerator acting up?
Call Appliance Repair Master for same-day Bosch 800 Series repair in Atlanta & Georgia.

Bosch 800 Series refrigerator is not the kind of appliance people buy casually. It usually arrives with a kitchen renovation, a new home, or the decision to finally replace the refrigerator that has been tolerated for too long. The appeal is obvious: clean lines, counter-depth proportions on many models, flexible storage, quiet operation, stainless finishes, Home Connect on select models, and Bosch food-preservation features such as VitaFresh and MultiAirFlow. Bosch describes the 800 Series refrigerator lineup as thoughtfully engineered, quietly efficient, and built to keep food fresher longer. That is exactly what homeowners expect from it.ย

The problem is that refrigerator trouble does not wait for a convenient day:

  •  Milk warms overnight.
  • Produce wilts faster than it should.
  • The freezer makes ice one week and quits the next.
  • A water dispenser slows to a trickle.
  • The Home Connect app reports a temperature warning. A glass shelf or glass door panel cracks.
  • The outlet trips.

The refrigerator still looks expensive, but suddenly you lose control of your cuisine processes.

At Appliance Repair Master, our technicians repair Bosch refrigerators across Atlanta and Georgia. We see the same pattern out there: the owner has a premium refrigerator, the obvious symptom, and the first guess is not always the correct one. A warm fresh-food section may be an airflow problem, not a sealed-system failure. Water under the unit may be a clogged defrost drain, not a broken refrigerator. Noise may be a fan hitting frost, not a dying compressor.

We wrote this guide for homeowners who need practical answers. It covers the most common Bosch 800 Series refrigerator problems, the safe checks you can make, the signs that the repair should not wait, and the warranty coverage gaps that often surprise people after the first year.

Know your Bosch 800 Series refrigerator before troubleshooting

The 800 Series refrigerator family is broader than one single machine. Some homes have a 36-inch French-door bottom-mount refrigerator. Some have a counter-depth model. Some have built-in refrigeration. Some newer glass-door models use a more design-forward finish. Some include a Refreshment Center. Some feature QuickIce Pro, Home Connect, VitaFresh, AirFresh, MultiAirFlow, dual compressors, or an internal water dispenser. Not every feature appears on every model.

That is why the model number matters. Bosch model names such as B36CL80ENS and B36CT81ENS tell a technician much more than the phrase Bosch 800 Series. Bosch lists the B36CL80ENS as a 36-inch 800 Series French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator with overall dimensions of 72 inches high by 35 5/8 inches wide by 27 13/16 inches deep and a required cutout of 72 inches by 36 inches by 25 inches. Its highlighted features include VitaFresh technology, Home Connect temperature monitoring, an internal filtered water dispenser, dual compressors for fridge and freezer, a stainless-steel back wall, and organized freezer drawers.ย

Before calling for service, write down:

  • Model number, often called E-Nr on Bosch labels
  • Serial number or FD number if shown on the rating plate
  • Exact symptom and when it happens
  • Current refrigerator and freezer temperatures
  • Any Home Connect alerts or display messages
  • Whether the refrigerator was recently moved, cleaned, remodeled around, or had the water filter replaced

Bosch 800 Series refrigerator not cooling properly

Cooling problems are the calls homeowners get most urgently. Once food temperatures climb, the repair is no longer just about the appliance. It is about groceries, food safety, flooring, cabinetry, and a very real clock.

A Bosch 800 Series refrigerator that is not cooling properly may still have lights, display response, and fan noise. That can be misleading. The appliance may look awake while one part of the cooling system is failing to do its job.

What may be happening

  • Air is not moving correctly through the refrigerator compartment.
  • The evaporator fan is weak, blocked, or not running.
  • Frost has built up where it should not, blocking airflow.
  • A temperature sensor is misreading cabinet conditions.
  • The damper is not opening or closing properly.
  • The condenser area is dirty or heat cannot escape.
  • The compressor, start device, inverter, or sealed system needs diagnosis.
  • Door gaskets or alignment allow warm Atlanta air into the cabinet.

Atlanta heat matters here. A refrigerator installed in a hot kitchen, tight enclosure, sun-exposed room, or poorly ventilated cabinet space has less margin for error. Bosch refrigerators are engineered for precise food preservation, but the appliance still needs air movement around the cabinet and stable operating conditions.

Safe checks before you call

  1. Make sure the refrigerator and freezer doors close fully.
  2. Move containers away from interior vents.
  3. Check whether groceries are packed tightly against the back wall.
  4. Confirm the temperature settings have not been changed.
  5. Listen for fan operation when the doors are closed.
  6. Look for frost or ice buildup on the rear interior panel.
  7. If you have Home Connect, check for temperature alerts or door-open history.

Call the same day if

  • The refrigerator compartment stays warm for more than a short recovery period.
  • Both refrigerator and freezer compartments are warming.
  • You hear repeated clicking, buzzing, or compressor start attempts.
  • The display is on but temperatures keep rising.
  • Food temperature is unsafe or you are unsure how long it has been warm.

Fresh-food section warm, freezer still cold

This is one of the most common Bosch 800 Series refrigerator problems. The freezer still feels cold, so the homeowner assumes the refrigerator is almost fine. Then the fresh-food section keeps drifting upward.

In many cases, the compressor is still producing cold. The problem is that cold air is not reaching or staying in the fresh-food section correctly.

Most likely causes

  • Evaporator fan issue
  • Blocked air channel
  • Damper problem
  • Defrost failure causing frost buildup
  • Door switch issue that affects fan behavior
  • Temperature sensor or control problem
  •  Door gasket leak
  •  Interior airflow blocked by food placement
Bosch highlights MultiAirFlow technology as a system that circulates cool air throughout the fridge from top to bottom and front to back. When that airflow is restricted by frost, a failed fan, a blocked vent, or a poor door seal, the refrigerator may no longer feel consistent from shelf to shelf.

Quick test

Place an appliance thermometer in the fresh-food section and another in the freezer. Check them after several hours without repeated door opening. If the freezer is near normal but the refrigerator remains warm, airflow and sensing move high on the diagnostic list.

Freezer not freezing or soft ice cream

Soft ice cream is often the first sign homeowners notice. The freezer is not cold enough to trust. Frozen vegetables feel flexible. Ice cubes clump. Meat packages sweat around the edges.

A Bosch 800 Series freezer problem can come from airflow, door sealing, frost buildup, a fan issue, compressor performance, control behavior, or a water/ice maker issue that is adding moisture where it does not belong.

What to check

  • Make sure the freezer drawer or door closes completely.
  • Look for packaging caught behind drawers.
  • Check for frost around the drawer gasket.
  • Listen for fan noise after the door switch is engaged.
  • Check if ice production changed around the same time.
  • Avoid loading large amounts of warm food and judging temperature immediately afterward.

If the freezer canโ€™t maintain temperature after a normal recovery period, schedule service. A freezer problem can quickly become a full cooling problem.

Bosch 800 Series refrigerator making loud noise

Refrigerators always make noise, this is a normal variant. Compressors hum. Fans move air. Ice drops. Water valves open and close. Refrigerants can gurgle. The useful question is whether the sound is new, sharp, repetitive, or tied to a performance problem.

Sound

Possible source

Why it matters

Grinding or scraping

Fan blade hitting frost or obstruction

Often pairs with airflow and temperature trouble

Buzzing near back or bottom

Compressor, valve, fan, or electrical component

Can be normal briefly, not if constant or loud

Clicking repeatedly

Compressor start attempt or relay/inverter issue

Needs diagnosis if temperatures rise

Rattling

Loose panel, tubing vibration, item touching cabinet

May be simple, but should not be ignored if new

Water hammer or thump

Water valve or house supply pressure

Often tied to ice maker or dispenser operation

Technician tip

Record a short video of the sound before the appointment. Noise that comes and goes is much easier to identify when we can hear it in context.

Ice maker not making ice

Ice maker problems are common in Bosch 800 Series refrigerators because they involve two systems at once: refrigeration and water delivery. The freezer has to be cold enough, and water has to reach the ice maker at the right time.

Bosch promotes QuickIce Pro on certain VitaFresh models as a high-output filtered ice system, but feature availability varies by model. Whether your refrigerator has a standard ice maker or a higher-output system, the diagnostic path is similar.

Common causes

  •  Overdue or incorrectly seated water filter
  •  Low water pressure
  •  Kinked water line behind the refrigerator
  •  Frozen fill tube
  •  Faulty water inlet valve
  •  Freezer temperature too high
  •  Door switch or drawer switch problem
  •  Ice maker module failure

Good homeowner checks

  1. Replace an overdue water filter with the correct filter.
  2. Make sure the ice maker is turned on.
  3. Confirm the freezer is cold enough.
  4. Look behind the refrigerator for a kinked water line if it is accessible without forcing the unit.
  5. Check whether the dispenser water flow is also weak.

How the symptom helps

Ice maker cycles but stays dry: the water path, valve, filter, pressure, or fill tube becomes more likely.

Ice maker never cycles: temperature, switch, control, or the ice maker module becomes more likely.

Ice is small or hollow: water supply, filter restriction, or fill timing deserves attention.

Water dispenser slow, no water, or strange taste

Many Bosch 800 Series refrigerators place the filtered water dispenser inside the fresh-food section rather than on the exterior door. The design keeps the front clean, but the water path still depends on the filter, valve, reservoir, tubing, and house supply.

A slow dispenser often appears after a filter change. The filter may not be seated fully, the system may need flushing, the wrong filter may have been installed, or water pressure may be low. If the flow was strong before the filter change and weak after it, start there.

Checklist

[1] Confirm if the filter is the correct experienced Bosch type for the model.

[2] Remove and reinstall the filter according to the manual.

[3] Flush several glasses of water after filter replacement.

[4] Check whether ice production also slowed down.

[5] Look for water around the filter housing or under the refrigerator.

Bad taste or odor may be filter related, but it can also come from stale ice, old lines, food odors, or a refrigerator interior that needs cleaning. Bosch describes AirFresh on certain models as a built-in filter that helps neutralize strong smells, but not every 800 Series refrigerator has the same feature set.ย

Water leaking under or inside the refrigerator

A leak should be treated quickly. Even a small refrigerator leak can damage hardwood, subflooring, toe kicks, and cabinets. In Atlanta homes, we often see homeowners discover the leak only after the flooring begins to cup or the base cabinet smells damp.

Common leak sources

  •  Water line connection behind the refrigerator
  •  Filter not seated correctly
  •  Cracked filter housing
  •  Water inlet valve leak
  • Defrost drain blockage
  • Ice maker fill tube problem
  • Condensation caused by door seal or humidity conditions
  • Drain pan overflow or abnormal moisture accumulation

What to do right away

  1. Pull the refrigerator only if it can be moved safely without damaging flooring or the water line.
  2. Turn off the water supply if the leak appears connected to the water system.
  3. Remove standing water from flooring immediately.
  4. Take photos before cleanup if you may need warranty, insurance, or landlord documentation.
  5. Call for service if the leak returns.

Do not ignore

Water near electrical components, a leak that reaches the outlet, swelling flooring, moldy odor, or repeated puddles after the refrigerator cycles.

Frost, condensation, or sweating around doors and drawers

Moisture problems can look minor at first. A little condensation on a drawer. Frost near the freezer gasket. Water droplets along the mullion. Then the refrigerator starts working harder, temperature consistency suffers, and the cabinet smells damp.

Atlanta humidity can expose weak door sealing quickly. A gasket that might be merely tired in a dry climate can become a daily moisture source here.

Possible causes

  • Door not closing completely
  • Food packaging blocking the drawer
  • Dirty or damaged gasket
  • Door alignment issue
  • Mullion/flipper strip not folding correctly
  • Warm food loaded in large quantity
  • High room humidity and frequent door opening
  • Defrost system or airflow issue

Simple gasket test

Close the door on a dollar bill or thin sheet of paper. If it slides out with almost no resistance in several spots, the gasket or door alignment may need attention. Do not treat this as a final diagnosis, but it is a useful clue.

VitaFresh drawer problems and food spoiling too fast

VitaFresh is one of the biggest reasons homeowners buy Bosch refrigerators. Bosch says VitaFresh technology balances temperature and humidity to keep food fresh up to 3x longer compared with Bosch refrigerators without VitaFresh, with results varying by food type.ย

When the drawer is not performing as expected, the issue may be the drawer setting, blocked airflow, damaged drawer seal, incorrect food storage, temperature drift, or a refrigerator-wide cooling problem.

Before blaming the drawer

[1] Check that the drawer is fully seated.

[2] Confirm the correct food setting if your model offers selectable settings.

[3] Do not block vents with bags or containers.

[4] Do not wash produce and store it wet unless the storage method calls for it.

[5] Track the actual cabinet temperature with an appliance thermometer.

If produce spoils quickly throughout the refrigerator, the VitaFresh drawer may not be the root problem. Temperature instability, airflow, door sealing, or humidity intrusion may be affecting the whole cabinet.

Home Connect alerts, display issues, and control confusion

Some Bosch 800 Series refrigerators work with Home Connect, which lets homeowners check temperature settings, receive alerts, and monitor certain refrigerator functions from the app. That can be genuinely useful, especially when a door has been left open or the temperature starts rising before anyone notices it in the kitchen.

The confusion starts when the app reports a problem but the refrigerator still looks normal from the outside. The display may show one temperature while the interior is warmer, or the app may send an alert after a brief door-opening event. In other cases, the alert is the first sign of a real cooling, sensor, door-switch, or control issue.

Our advice is simple: donโ€™t ignore repeated Home Connect alerts, but donโ€™t panic over a single notification either. Check the door seal, make sure food is not blocking vents, confirm the displayed temperature, and watch whether the alert returns. If it does, the refrigerator should be inspected before a small control or airflow issue turns into spoiled food.

How to handle alerts

  • Do not dismiss repeated temperature alerts without checking actual temperatures.
  • Check whether the door was left open or groceries were loaded recently.
  • Confirm the refrigerator is connected and reporting current data, not stale data.
  • Take screenshots of repeated alerts for the technician.
  • If the display is unresponsive, reset power once and note whether the issue returns.

A single app alert after a long grocery load may be harmless. A repeated alert with rising temperatures is not.

GFCI tripping issues with Bosch 800 Series refrigerators

Homeowners usually associate GFCI trips with dishwashers or laundry equipment, but refrigerator circuits can have GFCI protection too, especially in garages, basements, remodeled kitchens, or certain local code situations. When a Bosch 800 Series refrigerator trips a GFCI, do not keep resetting it as a routine.

A trip may come from the outlet, the circuit, moisture, a compressor start event, a fan motor, wiring, a control board, or another load on the same circuit. The refrigerator may not be the only suspect, but it does need to be checked carefully because food storage depends on steady power.

What to note

[1] Does the GFCI trip immediately when the refrigerator starts?

[2] Does it trip during compressor startup?

[3] Does it trip after ice maker or water dispenser use?

[4] Is there water near the outlet, baseboard, or refrigerator rear?

[5] Are other appliances or devices on the same circuit?

Important

Donโ€™t bypass electrical protection, donโ€™t run the refrigerator through an extension cord, and donโ€™t keep food in a refrigerator that loses power repeatedly. Repeated GFCI tripping issues deserve professional diagnosis.

Glass panel shattering, cracked shelves, and glass-door concerns

Some Bosch 800 Series refrigerators include glass shelves, glass drawer covers, or glass-door styling depending on the model. A cracked shelf or damaged glass panel should not be treated as cosmetic only, especially if food weight, temperature changes, impact, or frame pressure may be involved.

The search phrase glass panel shattering sounds dramatic, but homeowners use it for several refrigerator situations: a shelf that breaks, a crisper cover that cracks, a glass-door panel that shows damage, or a hairline crack that spreads after normal use.

Common contributors

  • Impact from heavy containers or bottles
  • Overloaded shelf or uneven weight
  • Thermal shock from very hot containers placed on cold glass
  • Glass not seated properly after cleaning
  • Door or drawer misalignment putting pressure on a panel
  • Existing chip at an edge or corner

Stop using damaged refrigerator glass

  • Remove food from the damaged shelf or drawer cover carefully.
  • Keep children and pets away from broken glass.
  • Do not keep loading a cracked glass shelf.
  • Have the part and its supports inspected before replacement if the crack appears stress-related.

Door alignment, gasket wear, and cabinet fit

Bosch 800 Series refrigerators often go into kitchens where design matters. Counter-depth installation, tight cabinet panels, and flush-looking openings are part of the appeal. They also make installation quality more important.

A refrigerator that is slightly out of level, pushed too far back, rubbing cabinetry, or sitting on uneven flooring can develop door-closing problems. Door problems then become temperature problems which provoke food spoilage.

Signs of alignment trouble

  • One door needs an extra push to close
  • The mullion or flipper strip does not fold smoothly
  • The gasket has gaps or compressed sections
  • Frost forms near one corner
  • Condensation appears along the door edge
  • The refrigerator rocks or shifts when doors open
  • Drawers do not slide cleanly because the cabinet is not square

Do not overlook this. A perfect-looking installation can still be mechanically wrong.

800 Series reliability concerns

Being totally fair with you, we’d better mention that Bosch 800 Series reliability should avoid two extremes:

  1. Pretending every complaint means the product is bad.
  2. Pretending premium appliances never fail.

In our experience, many 800 series reliability concerns fall into a few buckets: water and ice system issues, airflow restrictions, sensor or control behavior, door sealing, installation constraints, and homeowner expectations around premium pricing. People expect a Bosch refrigerator to be quiet, stable, and low-maintenance. When it is not, the disappointment is stronger because the purchase price was higher.

What is usually normal

  • Brief fan or compressor sounds
  • Short temperature recovery after loading groceries
  • Occasional ice maker sounds
  • Slight water sound after dispenser use
  • Minor condensation during heavy humidity if doors were opened often

What is not normal

  • Food warming overnight
  • Repeated Home Connect temperature alerts
  • Ice maker failure that lasts more than a short reset/recovery period
  • Water under the refrigerator
  • Repeated GFCI trips
  • Grinding fan noise
  • Cracked glass under normal loading
  • Freezer frost returning after cleanup

Warranty coverage gaps homeowners should know

Here Bosch owners can get caught off guard. Bosch warranty coverage depends on the product type, model, purchase date, warranty supplement, and the cause of failure. Bosch currently lists refrigerators with a limited warranty for the entire appliance, parts and labor, for one year.ย

For built-in refrigerators, Bosch lists additional parts-only coverage: entire appliance parts-only in the second year, electronics parts-only from the third through fifth year, and lifetime parts-only rust-through coverage on stainless-steel doors. Bosch also directs homeowners to the owner manual or warranty supplement for exact appliance terms.ย

Those terms create real warranty coverage gaps for homeowners. A repair can be needed after year one. A parts-only period may not include labor. A water leak may be tied to installation or supply conditions. Cosmetic damage may be disputed. Glass damage may depend on cause. A refrigerator that came with the home may have missing paperwork.

Keep this documentation

[1] Purchase receipt or closing documents if the refrigerator came with the home

[2] Model number and serial number

[3] Photos or video of the problem

[4] Screenshots of Home Connect alerts

[5] Installation invoice or remodel paperwork

[6] Water filter purchase records

[7] Previous repair invoices

Before you call: a safe 10-minute refrigerator check

This checklist is for homeowners. It is not a substitute for repair, and it should not involve opening sealed panels or touching electrical components.

Check

What it tells you

Read actual temperatures with an appliance thermometer

The display setting is not the same as the real cabinet temperature

Check door closure and gaskets

Many cooling complaints begin with warm air entering the cabinet

Move food away from vents

Blocked airflow can mimic a mechanical failure

Look for frost buildup

Frost pattern helps separate airflow, defrost, and sealing issues

Check water filter seating

Slow water and low ice production often follow filter issues

Listen for fan or compressor sounds

The location and timing of noise helps diagnosis

Take photos of leaks or alerts

Good documentation speeds service and warranty conversations

Stop troubleshooting and call now if

  • Both compartments are warming.
  • The GFCI trips more than once.
  • Water is reaching the floor or outlet.
  • There is a burning smell.
  • The refrigerator clicks repeatedly and does not cool.
  • Glass is cracked or broken.
  • Food safety is already in question.

When Bosch 800 Series refrigerator repair makes sense

Repair usually makes sense when the refrigerator is in good overall condition, the cabinet installation is workable, parts are available, and the failed component is not part of a larger pattern.ย

Replacement may make more sense when the unit has repeated major failures, severe sealed-system trouble, unavailable parts, or repair costs that approach replacement value.

A technician shouldnโ€™t make that recommendation from the doorway. A proper Bosch 800 Series repair decision comes after checking temperatures, airflow, frost pattern, fans, compressor behavior, water system, controls, gaskets, installation, and fault history.

Appliance Repair Master approach

  • We verify the complaint instead of guessing from the symptom.
  • We check installation and cabinet fit because Bosch refrigerators are sensitive to airflow and alignment.
  • We test the relevant system before recommending parts.
  • We explain whether the repair is practical based on age, condition, and cost.
  • We help Atlanta homeowners avoid paying twice for the same problem.

FAQ

1. Why is my Bosch 800 Series refrigerator not cooling?

Possible causes include blocked airflow, fan failure, frost buildup, sensor trouble, door seal problems, control issues, compressor start problems, or sealed-system trouble. Check door closure, vents, and actual temperatures first, then schedule service if temperatures do not recover.

That often points to an airflow or defrost issue rather than a total cooling failure. A fan, damper, blocked vent, frost buildup, sensor, or door gasket problem may be involved.

The cause may be the water filter, water pressure, frozen fill tube, inlet valve, freezer temperature, door switch, or ice maker module. If dispenser water is also slow, start with the water path.

Protect the floor, turn off the water supply if the leak appears connected to the water system, take photos, and call service if the leak returns. Common sources include the filter, water valve, water line, ice maker fill tube, and defrost drain.

They are premium refrigerators with strong food-preservation features, but they are not problem-free. Many 800 series reliability concerns involve installation, airflow, water systems, sensors, door sealing, or warranty expectations.

Yes, depending on the circuit and installation. Repeated GFCI tripping issues should be diagnosed. Do not bypass protection or use extension cords.

Homeowners may use that phrase for broken glass shelves, crisper covers, or glass-door damage. Stop using cracked glass, remove food carefully, and have the shelf, supports, or panel inspected before replacement.

Bosch lists a one-year limited warranty for refrigerators covering the entire appliance, parts and labor. Built-in refrigerators may have additional parts-only coverage. Exact coverage depends on the model and warranty supplement. [5]

11.7 Release

You release Appliance Repair Master, its officers, employees, contractors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of the authorized uses described in this Section 11, including any claim for invasion of privacy, right of publicity, defamation, or copyright infringement.

12. Reviews & Testimonials

13. Limitations on Service & Pre-Existing Conditions

Appliance Repair Master is not responsible for:

  • pre-existing conditions, hidden defects, or latent failures
  • damage or failure of components not serviced by us
  • failures that become apparent during or after service due to age, wear, or unrelated issues
  • conditions caused by improper prior installation, modifications, or unauthorized repairs

Appliance systems may have multiple underlying issues. While we aim to diagnose accurately, additional repairs may be required, and we do not guarantee that one repair will resolve all symptoms.

14. Refrigerant, Sealed Systems & Hazardous Materials

Repairs involving refrigerants, sealed systems, gas lines, or other hazardous materials are performed in compliance with applicable EPA Section 608 regulations and Georgia law. You acknowledge that:

  • sealed-system repairs may not fully restore original performance on aging units
  • refrigerant disposal and recovery fees may apply
  • we are not liable for damage resulting from undisclosed prior tampering with sealed systems, refrigerant charges, or refrigerant types

15. Smart Appliances & Connected Data

If your appliance is connected to Wi-Fi, a mobile app, or another network, we may temporarily disconnect or reset the appliance during service. You are responsible for re-pairing the appliance with your network and account credentials after the repair. We do not store, access, or copy data from your connected appliance beyond what is necessary to perform the requested service.

16. Customer Preparation & Property Access

You agree to:

  • provide safe and unobstructed access to the appliance and service area

  • ensure children are supervised and away from the work area
  • disclose any known hazards (mold, asbestos, pest infestation, structural issues, electrical defects)
  • remove perishable contents from refrigerators or freezers prior to certain repairs, when requested
  • have an adult (18+) present for the duration of the appointment

We are not liable for damage resulting from:

  • unsafe working conditions
  • undisclosed hazards
  • improper prior installations
  • code violations or non-compliant modifications
  • inability to access the appliance due to obstructions

Technicians reserve the right to refuse, pause, or terminate service if conditions are unsafe, abusive, or otherwise unreasonable.

17. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Trip Fee Policy

Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation or trip fee.

If a technician is dispatched and one of the following occurs, a service fee may still apply:

  • no one is present to grant access
  • the technician is denied access or asked to leave
  • the appliance is not at the service address
  • unsafe conditions prevent the work from being performed

18. Workmanship Warranty

Subject to the exclusions below, Appliance Repair Master warrants:

  • Labor / workmanship: [30 / 60 / 90] days from the date of completed service
  • Parts installed by us: the lesser of the manufacturer’s parts warranty or [90 days] from installation

This warranty applies only to:

  • the specific repair performed
  • the specific component(s) replaced
  • the original customer at the original service address
  • appliances used in normal, single-family residential settings

This warranty does NOT cover:

  • customer-supplied parts
  • damage from misuse, abuse, accident, power surge, flood, fire, or acts of God
  • normal wear and tear or consumable items
  • repairs or modifications made by unauthorized persons after our service
  • pre-existing conditions or unrelated failures
  • commercial, rental, or shared-use environments unless agreed in writing
  • cosmetic damage that does not affect appliance function

To make a warranty claim, you must contact us within the warranty period using the information in Section 28 and provide proof of the original service. Our sole obligation under this warranty is, at our option, to re-perform the labor or replace the failed part. No refunds, replacements of the appliance, or compensation for incidental or consequential damages are provided under this warranty.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

EXCEPT FOR THE LIMITED WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY IN SECTION 18, THE SITE, SERVICES, AND MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPLIANCE REPAIR MASTER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE IS FREE FROM HARMFUL CODE, AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFEGUARDS.

This Section does not waive any non-disclaimable rights you may have under Georgia law, including those under O.C.G.A. ยง 11-2-314 and ยง 11-2-315.

20. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPLIANCE REPAIR MASTER, ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OR DATA
  • LOSS OR SPOILAGE OF FOOD, MEDICATION, OR OTHER CONTENTS OF A REFRIGERATOR, FREEZER, OR WINE STORAGE UNIT
  • WATER DAMAGE, FLOODING, MOLD, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM APPLIANCE FAILURE BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER SERVICE
  • ELECTRICAL DAMAGE, FIRE, OR DAMAGE TO CONNECTED PROPERTY
  • LOSS OF USE OR INCONVENIENCE

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Site, the Services, or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid by you to Appliance Repair Master for the specific service giving rise to the claim, or (b) $500.

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

21. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Appliance Repair Master and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:

  • your violation of these Terms
  • your misuse of the Site or services
  • your violation of any law or third-party right
  • undisclosed hazards or conditions at the service location
  • inaccurate information you provide to us

22. Revisions & Accuracy

Site materials may contain errors. Appliance Repair Master may make changes at any time without notice and does not commit to updating materials.

23. Third-Party Links & Services

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only. Appliance Repair Master does not control or endorse third-party content. If we use a third-party SMS or messaging platform, your participation may also be subject to that provider’s own terms, including provisions for opt-in, opt-out, frequency, fees, privacy, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

24. Governing Law, Venue & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Informal Resolution. Before initiating any formal proceeding, the parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting Appliance Repair Master in writing.

Binding Arbitration. If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in DeKalb County, Georgia, or another mutually agreed location. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class Action Waiver. You and Appliance Repair Master agree that any dispute will be brought in your individual capacity only, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims and may not preside over any form of representative proceeding.

Exceptions. Either party may bring a small-claims-court action, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights, without waiving arbitration of other claims.

Limitation of Actions. Any claim arising out of these Terms or the services must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, or be forever barred, except where applicable law prohibits such a limitation.

25. Force Majeure

Appliance Repair Master is not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, severe weather, public health emergencies, pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, government action, utility failures, supply-chain disruptions, parts shortages, or internet/telecommunications outages.

26. General Provisions

Modifications. Appliance Repair Master may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any signed work orders or invoices, constitute the entire agreement between you and Appliance Repair Master and supersede all prior oral or written agreements.

Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

No Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Survival. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 11, 19, 20, 21, and 24) survive.

Headings. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

Notices. Legal notices to Appliance Repair Master must be sent in writing to the address in Section 28. Notices to you may be sent to the email or address you provided.

27. Compliance with Georgia Law

Appliance Repair Master operates in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the laws of the State of Georgia and applicable regulations in Atlanta, DeKalb County, and the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.

Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights granted to consumers under Georgia law, including under the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act (O.C.G.A. ยง 10-1-390 et seq.) and the Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Georgia.
